Dietitian
Job Description
A dietitian encourages good dietary health by creating eating plans for patients of all ages and needs. They can work in a variety of places, such as a hospital, early intervention setting, or private practice. Some responsibilities include:
- promoting healthy eating
- educating people about nutrition
- writing reports
Things You Should Know
Minimum Degree Requirement: A dietitian usually has at least a bachelor’s degree and has completed supervised training through an internship. Most states also require dietitians to be licensed.
Salary and Outlook: According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, dietitians are earning an average annual salary of $57,910. The employment of dietitians is also projected to grow 16% from 2014-2024, faster than the average rate for all other occupations.
